Homicide Seminar a success!

In September the Fayetteville Police Foundation sponsored a seminar instructed by Vernon J. Geberth.

Vernon is a retired Lieutenant Commander of the New York City Police Department with over 40 years of

experience in law enforcement.

Vernon retired as the Commanding Officer of the Bronx Homicide Task Force, which handled over 400

murder investigations a year.

He has personally investigated, supervised, assessed and consulted on over 8,000 death investigations.  In

addition to his B.B.A., Commander Geberth has two Master’s Degrees and is a graduate of the FBI National

Academy 119th Session.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Through the seminar the Fayetteville Police

Department was able to train 13 officers, detectives and technicians about intense homicide investigation

techniques. The seminar was hosted at Embassy Suites on Lake Valley Drive on September 10-12, 2012.

Each attendee of Geberth’s course of instruction received a copy of his latest textbook,
